What does rewrite letter do?

Rewrite Letter nudges every vowel one step along the cycle a→e→i→o→u→a while consonants, spacing and case stay put, so hello becomes hillu and Panda becomes Pende. Run it five times and the word returns to where it started, since the cycle has five stops. Good for invented names, classroom puzzles and odd usernames.

How to use the Rewrite Letter

  1. 1 Type a word, or paste a few.
  2. 2 Watch each vowel step forward through a, e, i, o, u.
  3. 3 Consonants and capital letters remain untouched.
  4. 4 Copy the shifted spelling.

What you can use it for

  • Inventing fictional names or fantasy words.
  • Creating light word puzzles for classrooms.
  • Generating quirky usernames or handles.
  • Showing how a simple letter substitution works.

Frequently asked questions

Exactly which characters are affected?
The vowels only: a→e, e→i, i→o, o→u and u→a. Consonants, digits, punctuation and spaces are copied through without change.
What happens to uppercase vowels?
They shift and stay uppercase, so Oslo becomes Uslu. The word keeps its visual shape and casing pattern.
How do I get my original word back?
Run the output through the tool four more times. Five shifts complete the vowel cycle, so the fifth pass lands back on the original spelling.
