What is a random letter generator?
Pick anywhere from one to dozens of letters at random, in uppercase, lowercase or a mix of both. Each position is an independent draw from the 26-letter alphabet using the browser’s CSPRNG, so repeats are possible, exactly like rolling a 26-sided die. Handy when a game needs a starting letter, a class needs practice prompts, or options need shuffled labels.
How to use the Random Letter Generator
- 1 Slide the counter to how many letters you need.
- 2 Select A-Z, a-z or both cases together.
- 3 Switch on spacing if you want the letters separated.
- 4 Press Generate to draw.
What you can use it for
- Choosing a random letter for word games.
- Picking starter letters for writing prompts.
- Assigning random labels (A, B, C…) to options.
- Alphabet practice with an element of chance.
Frequently asked questions
Can I generate just one random letter?
Set the count to 1. One press, one letter; press again for a re-roll. Good for “name a country starting with…” games.
Does it include both uppercase and lowercase?
Whichever you enable. With both cases on there are 52 possible outcomes per position, and K and k count as different results.
Are letters repeated?
They can be, since draws are independent. Expect a duplicate somewhere in almost every batch of ten or more; that is normal randomness, not a bug.
